Coaching FAQs

Is your teen feeling a bit lost? Are they struggling to find themselves? Do they need a listening ear, a gentle prod and somebody to ask the right questions? Then coaching is for them.

Let’s be clear: I am not a Counsellor. But not all teens need counselling. Some just need a safe space to work out who they are, what they want and somebody to help them dig deep to find the resources within them to achieve their dreams. This is what I offer.

If your teen needs the help of a Counsellor, Psychiatrist or Psychotherapist to put them back on the right track, I will always let you know and point you in the right direction, I promise.

Coaching is very powerful. Think of all the best athletes, footballers and entrepreneurs. Where would they be without coaching?

Coaching enables people to do things they never thought possible. But, they do need to WANT to do those things in the first place.

As much as you might want your teen to make a change, if they are not on board, it’s unlikely to make much difference and I would genuinely recommend you save your money. It’s like trying to get a 4 year old to eat broccoli. If they don’t see the benefit, they don’t see the benefit.

But if your teen is ready to unlock their true awesomeness, I will provide the right tools and environment for this to happen. Your teen will be the one doing the work and making those changes (but I will support them every step of the way!)

Deep down inside, your teen already knows what they want and has all the resources to get there. But sometimes we lose touch with who we really are and what we really want.  It is my job as coach to ask the right questions to unlock the answers. I will provide a safe space where your teen can speak freely and confidentially.

I also use Neuro-Linguistic Programming tools, techniques and processes. To find out more about NLP, click here.

I have been told that I am “nice” on more the one occasion but for a more objective view, you might like to check out what others say about me here.

I offer a free discovery call so that your teen can meet me before we start the sessions. If they decide not to go ahead after this, that’s absolutely fine (no offence taken!)

As the saying goes, how long is a piece of string? If your teen wants to work on a long-term goal, for example, it may take longer than a teen who just wants some short-term help organising their time.

I usually recommend 4 (1 hour) sessions to begin with. You may decide to book more or you may decide on a series of 20 minute catch-up sessions to keep your teen on track in the longer term. I am happy to tailor the sessions to your teen’s needs.

I know that investing in coaching for your teen is a big decision because I felt the same the first time that I invested in coaching for my own teen.

I imagine that you are asking yourself whether you are going to see a return on your investment. I get it. I really do.

This is why I offer a free 30 minute discovery call so that you and your teen get to meet me properly before investing.

I also do not insist that you commit for a minimum amount of time as coaching will only work if your teen WANTS it to.

I tailor the prices specifically to your teen’s needs. Book a discovery call now and we’ll work out the best option for you.

I have been a qualified English Teacher at secondary level since 2004, so I really do get what it’s like for teenagers in schools – the enormous pressures that they are under both academically and socially.

I am a qualified NLP Practitioner and Coach.

I’m also a Mum of two teens!
